Sample Interview Questions

Encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance and polymorphism. Be ready to explain each with a small Java example.
HashMap uses a hash to locate a bucket and compares keys using hashCode() and equals(). Collisions are handled within a bucket; implementation details vary by Java version.
map transforms each element into one result. flatMap transforms each element into a stream and flattens those streams into one stream.
Dependency injection supplies an object's dependencies from outside rather than having the object create them. Constructor injection is commonly preferred for required dependencies.
It lets Spring manage transaction boundaries. Understand propagation, isolation, rollback rules and why self-invocation can bypass proxy-based behavior.
A server validates credentials and issues a signed token. A client sends it with requests; the server validates the signature and claims before authorizing access.
RestTemplate is the older synchronous client; WebClient supports reactive and non-blocking use cases; RestClient offers a modern synchronous fluent API in newer Spring versions.
A resilience pattern that temporarily stops calls to a failing dependency, helping prevent cascading failures. Know closed, open and half-open states.
Consumers in a group share partition assignments so partitions are processed by one group member at a time. Rebalancing changes assignments when membership changes.
An initial query is followed by additional queries for related entities. Diagnose with SQL logs and consider fetch joins, entity graphs or batching where appropriate.
Expose appropriate Actuator endpoints, instrument metrics with Micrometer, visualize them in a monitoring system and combine metrics with logs and traces.
Clarify requirements, define resource contracts, add validation and pagination, design for idempotency, secure the API, measure performance and plan for failure and observability.
